As you
explore the streets of George Town, be on a look out for the Historic Blue Plaques placed by the Penang Tourism Action Council, with information provided by the Penang Heritage Trust. They give a brief explanation of the history of the streets of George Town. These blue plaques are a wonderful addition to the World Heritage Site, and it is a lot of fun looking for them as you explore the streets. I want to acknowledge all the people who were involved in putting up the historic blue plaques. Names are those involved are listed in alphabetical order, according to surname.

New Penang Road Signs
Just as the historic blue plaques were put up, the State Government also put up new
Penang road signs. It caused a furore among the politicians.
