SM Mall of Asia (GPS: 14.53515, 120.98273) is a huge shopping mall in Manila, Philippines. The area where the mall is located is known as Bay City, a reclaimed area which is within the neighbourhood of Pasay City, Metro Manila. SM Mall of Asia covers an area bounded by Sunset Avenue in the north, Marina Way in the south, J.W. Diokno Boulevard in the east and Seaside Boulevard in the west facing Manila Bay. The shopping mall is on the western end of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), where it ends with a roundabout with a globe centrepiece.

SM Mall of Asia was officially opened to the public on 21 May, 2006, by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It is owned and operated by SM Prime Holdings. At the time of its opening, it was the largest shopping mall in the Philippines. Since then, it has been overtaken by other malls, all of which also owned and developed by SM Prime Holdings.

SM Mall of Asia comprises four inter-connected buildings. Most portions of the mall are just two storeys tall, being the ground and upper floor. Over these two levels are hundred of shoplots including among others the anchor tenants such as the SM Hypermarket and San Miguel-Coca-Cola IMAX theater (it was the first in the Philippines when it opened). Other tenants include National Book Store, Jollibee, Science Discovery Center, The NorthFace, Watson and many more. The mall also has Philippine's first Olympic-sized ice skating rink, which is believed to be the biggest in Asia.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
