Selah (GPS: 5.327004, 100.279637) is a casual dining outlet at Olive Tree Hotel. It is located on the ground floor, to the left side of the Front Office. The outlet, which derives its name from the Hebrew word סֶלָה, which means to pause, is created as a watering hole for the office and business community from the surrounding areas, a place where they can chill out, talk business while enjoying meals and beverages.

Patrons of Selah enjoy a selection of food items. Set Lunch is available daily from 11:30am to 2:30pm. À la carte items include Soup of the Day, Pastas, Westerns and Light Bites, to be washed down with a selection of Coffee, Teas including TWG Tea, Juices, Garden Sodas, Milkshakes and Dairies.

My visit to Selah

My wife and I enjoyed a meal at Selah on 14 September, 2017. We were hosted by Miss Jennifer Low, the Markeing & Communications Manager at the hotel. We had a lovely evening chitchatting, while we enjoyed the various items. We started our meal by trying the Vietnamese Chicken Salad. Then we moved on to try two different types of soup - the Mushroom Soup and the Tomato Soup. Both were very rich and creamy. We continued by demolishing one serving of Oriental Chicken Wings, then shared two pasta dishes - the Chicken Mushroom Alfredo and Fra Diavolo Lamb Pasta. After that, we tried the Chicken Chop.

As for beverages, we ordered the juices. I had the Body Cooler (Watermelon and Lychee), Jennifer had the Mango Fresca (Mango and Lime) while my wife had the Appletiser (Apple, Celery and Lemon). Later, we finished with Hot Chocolate.

The Vietnamese Chicken Salad was a nice start to the meal. I can smell the aroma of the various herbs that go into it. The Chicken Mushroom Alfredo is nice and creamy. The two soups were also very rich and creamy. I like both of them. The soups were served with garlic bread, which was toasted just nice - crispy and not burnt. The Fra Diavolo Lamb Pasta is quite spicy, a little too spicy for my preference. The Chicken Chop is juicy, but a bit on the salty side, so I had to balance that by taking the chicken with the vegetables on the side.

It was a lovely meal, and out chitchat at Selah is, to a certain extend, a replication of the whole purpose of the place, where people can come together, to meet up for a chat.
