The German Beer Festival, Oktoberfest, is celebrated in a big way in Penang, which has a substantial German-speaking community. For Penangites, it is their opportunity to embrace the inner German in them, with Penang's authentic German Beer Festival.
This year, and for the first time ever, Golden Sands Resort in Batu Feringgi will be staging Oktoberfest at Sigi's Bar & Grill. This will be on
Wednesday, 17 October, 2018, from 6:00pm onwards
.
For Oktoberfest, Sigi's Bar & Grill as well as part of the beachfront will be transform into a sort of Little Bavaria, complete with wooden floors for traditional German tapping dance. There will be wooden tables and benches, just like a Munich beer hall. The hotel has also hired a 5-member live band called Franker Rauber, all the way from Munich to add an authentic touch to the celebration, to render a repertoire of rock, traditional folk and popular Oktoberfest hits.
The fare is traditional German, including the likes of sauerkraut to accompany the traditional German grilled sausages, chicken schnitzel, roasted whole chicken, cheese and herbs spaetzli, beef goulash and beef Vienna, beef steaks and a list of dessert including black forest cake, apple strudel, pretzel and kaiserschmarrn (pancake with Apple sauce). The lager and wheat beer you can expect to be flowing that evening include well known brands such as Erdinger and Lowenbrau. There are also a variety of German wines-red, white and sparkling to be enjoyed. Plenty of classic Ocktoberfest games like the Dance and beer drinking challenge.
For a memorable evening full of food, beer, wine, culture and tradition, make you way to Oktoberfest at Sigi’sand embrace your inner German! Donning a lederhosen or dirndl is optional.
The Oktoberfest Buffet Dinner is priced at RM99 nett per adult and RM50 nett per child. For enquiries and resrvations, please call (604) 886 1852.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
