Komtar JBCC (GPS: 1.46385, 103.76302), or
Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak, is one of the older shopping complexes in
Johor Bahru. The original Komtar opened on 11 March, 1979 by then prime minister Tun Hussein Onn. The complex underwent revitalization and reopened as Komtar JBCC in November 20144. Just like the
Komtar in
Penang, it was named after the late Tun Abdul Razak, the second prime minister of the country. The revitalized shopping mall offers 900,000 square feet of lettable space on 1.4 million square feet of floor area.
Komtar JBCC comprises a two storey shopping arcade and a 25-storey office block. Anchor tenants include Metrojaya and Marks & Spencer. On Level 3 is a food court and the Angry Birds Activity Park.
