Teluk Duyung (Monkey Beach)
|
Teluk Duyung is the bay at the base of Muka Head, in the Penang National Park. It is popularly known as Monkey Beach due to the presence of the long-tailed macaques in the area. Nonetheless it is a popular camping spot for hikers. There are some dilapidated bungalows here which were built by the late Tan Sri Loh Boon Siew. Depending on the tide, the sea here is strewn with litter and driftwood.
Teluk Duyung is the bay immediately after Teluk Ailing.
Getting there
Teluk Duyung is part of Penang National Park, and entered through the jungle trek that begins at the End of the World. Get information on getting there on the Penang National Park page.
