Taman Sawang is 3.1 km from Magazine Circus. It is located adjacent to the high-density Perak Road and Jelutong neighbourhoods. However, its proximity to the city centre makes it ideal for those working in the city.

Public Transport

Rapid Penang buses do not pass through Free School Road, so if you rely on public transport, you have a distance of close to 700 meters to cover to the nearest bus stop at Perak Road or Terengganu Road. Bus 11 pass through Perak Road while Bus 206 pass through Terengganu Road.

Amenities

From Taman Sawang, the nearest school is Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Sum Sun, Moh Ghee Primary School, Heng Ee High School, Penang Free School and Han Chang High School. The nearest market is the Perak Road Market. Tesco Penang is the nearest hypermarket. The nearest petrol station is the Shell at Green Lane McDonald's. The nearest hospital is Lam Wah Ee Hospital.

Traffic

Traffic along Free School Road is very heavy during rush hour, with regular congestions at the Taman Free School roundabout and the Perak Road junction. Having said that, it is the same throughout the city during rush hour.
