Real Estate Review: Taman Petani, George Town, Penang
Taman Petani is a six-storey apartment block in George Town, Penang. It is located near the end of Singgora Lane, at the junction with Cheah Choo Yew Road. Its address is at 55 Singgora Lane. Due to its proximity to Patani Road, there is a possibility that the apartment was misnamed "petani", meaning "farmer" in Malay, rather than "Patani", the name of the city in Thailand. Taman Petani Apartment is across the road from Desa Singora Apartment, and in front of UMNO Jelutong Branch. In front of it is a bus park.
Taman Petani was built on freehold tenure. There is a total of 24 apartment units at Taman Petani. Each apartment has a built-up area of 700 square feet.
Facilities include parking lot and general maintenance.
The nearest schools from Taman Petani are Convent Dato Kramat and Tong Shan Primary School. Kuantan Road Market is the nearest market. The Esso station along Dato Kramat Road is the nearest petrol station. The nearest shopping centre is Penang Times Square. The nearest hospital is the Penang General Hospital.
Taman Petani is only 1.1 km from Magazine Circus making it an ideal place to stay for those working in George Town.
Traffic along Singgora Lane is low for much of the day but Dato Kramat Road is usually congested while Patani Road experiences low to heavy traffic depending on time of day.
The nearest bus stop is on Dato Kramat Road, a good 10-15 minutes' walk away. It is served by Rapid Penang bus 10, 102, 201, 202, 203, 204, 304 and 502.
