Siakap, which is the Malay name for barramundi, is a saltwater fish that is considered a delicacy in Penang. It is often also called the Asian seabass or Australian seabass, and can be found from the Persian Gulf right down to Australia. Siakap is usually steamed in Chinese cooking.
