Shopping for Handicrafts in Penang

If you come to Penang to shop for handicrafts, I have to say that your choice is quite limited. The only handicrafts made in Penang are batik and pewterware. These are usually found in their outlets along Batu Ferringhi. They range from small pieces of souvenir items to rather pricey pieces such as works of art of tableware.

Yahong Art Gallery in Batu Ferringhi has a good selection of batik paintings, along with handicrafts such as wood carvings, Sarawak pottery, silverware and others.

If you are looking for the beautiful Nyonya porcelain, they are classified as antiques.
