Rice Miller City Residences (map) is a luxury property development on a 1.2 hectare site in George Town, Penang. The RM250-million project is being developed by Asian Global Business. It comprises 99 residential units and a 48-room 5-star boutique hotel facing the Weld Quay waterfront, and bounded by Beach Street, Church Street Ghaut and China Street Ghaut. The apartments include 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, studio and duplex units.

Rice Miller City was named to commemorate the rice mill operated by 19th century tycoon Phuah Hin Leong (@ Lim Choo Guan), whose great-granddaughter chairs Asian Global Business. The project hopes to emulate the successes of other rehabilated waterfronts such as London Docklands and Sydney Darling Harbour.

Facilites

Facilities planned include an infinity swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna, massage centre, events hall, a sports bar with virtual golf, a fine-dining restaurant, a cigar lounge, a private club and other facilities expected of a 5-star hotel.

Location

Rice Miller City Residences is 2.4 km from Magazine Circus. It is ideal for high-income individuals who wish to stay in the heart of George Town.

Public Transport

Rice Miller City Residences is within walking distance to the Weld Quay Bus Terminal, where you can take the Rapid Penang buses as well as taxi and even trishaw to other parts of the city.

Amenities

The nearest petrol stations include the Esso and Shell along Farquhar Street. The nearest schools include St Xavier's Institution and Convent Light Street. The nearest market is the Campbell Street Market. The nearest shopping centres include Komtar, 1st Avenue and Prangin Mall. The nearest hospitals include the Penang General Hospital and Island Hospital.

Traffic

Traffic along Weld Quay is usually heavy during peak hours but moving at all times.
