Lorong Popus

Popus Lane is a short lane off Transfer Road. In the late 19th century, it was part of an Indian Muslim and Malay settlements which have all but disappeared, save for some remnants such as Keramat Dato Koyah.

Getting there

Take the free Rapid Penang shuttle bus to Bus Stop No. 11 (Kedah Road). From there, walk a short distance to Popus Lane, which is off Transfer Road.

Sights along Popus Lane

Popus Lane has lovely pre-war houses, some of which, like nos. 8, 10 & 12, have been lovingly restored. Its proximity to the city centre makes it an ideal place to stay comfortably and not having to drive everywhere.
