In 1959, the association was renamed the North Malaya Cheah Clan Society, to reflect the geographical composition of its members. A committtee was set up during an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 2 April 1961 with the purpose of raising funds for the association premises. This enabled the association to buy a 30,655 sq ft plot of land on which to erect their ancestral hall. On 18 March, 1962, the association adopted the name of North Malaya Cheah Si Chong Soo, or North Malaya Cheah Clan Ancestral Hall.
The present building of the North Malaya Cheah Si Chong Soo dates back to the 1966 Extraordinary General Meeting, where the members resolved to start a new building committee for the construction of a new ancestral temple. Groundbreaking on the project was performed on 20 November, 1972, and the ancestral temple was completed the following year. The inauguration of the clan temple was held on 10 November, 1974, in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee of the association.
