Lorong Baru

New Lane is an L-shaped road in George Town. It connects Dato Kramat Road to Macalister Road.

Today New Lane is one of Penang's premier hawker food haven. The hawker stalls are lined up along curb at Wisma Central and also at a row of coffee shops. The one at the junction with Macalister Road is Sin Yin Nam Cafe. The Char Koay Teow here is quite nice.

Getting there

No buses pass through New Lane, but you can catch many going along Dato Kramat Road (Rapid Penang 11, 201, 202, 203, 204, 206, 301, 302 and 502) and Macalister Road (Rapid Penang 10, 101, 104 and 304)
