Musalla Kampung Bukit

Musalla Kampung Bukit is the village prayer hall of one of the five Malay villages that make up Bayan Lepas. The five villages are Kampung Bukit, Kampung Nelayan, Kampung Seronok, Kampung Padang and Kampung Binjai). Musalla Kampung Bukit was built in 1921 and although it has been repaired and repainted over the years, the musalla has retained its appearance. This is one of the few heritage buildings on the southern part of Penang Island.

Today, Musalla Kampung Bukit is part of an Islamic school which includes the Madrasah Al-Khairiah Al-Islamiah, with intake of pupils from Year 1-6 and Tadika Al-Hidayah, for children aged 4 to 6.

Getting there

Musalla Kampung Bukit is located at the junction of Jalan Bayan Lepas and Jalan Permatang Damar Laut. Rapid Penang buses that pass by it include Nos. 302, 305, 308, 401, U502
