Mount Erskine Road, George Town, Penang

Mount Erskine Road is a main road on the northern part of George Town. Despite its name, the road is not on Mount Erskine, which is in fact a distance from it.
Mount Erskine Road starts at the junction with Jalan Fettes, and ends at the junction with Gottlieb Road, Jalan Bagan Jermal and Burmah Road. It passes through the one of the big Chinese cemeteries in Penang. The cemeteries at Mount Erskine Road has one of the best views of George Town, although lately this has been blocked by high rise condominiums.
Mount Erskine Road may have gotten its name after Mount Erskine, which in turn was named after J.J. Erskine, who was a George Town town councillor in 1810. There might not be a connection to Erskine Road in Singapore.
