Methodist Boys' School/Anglo-Chinese School Union (4 May, 2013)
Methodist Boys School/Anglo-Chinese School Union is a school union with its premises along Penang Road, in George Town, Penang. It is housed in a 5-storey Early Modern-style building which also houses a Chinese hotel hotel, Singapore Hotel.
The school union is even older than the building itself, having been established in 1906. At that time, the Methodist Boys School, or Anglo-Chinese School as it was then known, was located at nearby Maxwell Road, where Komtar and the Pacific Hypermarket are located today. It is housed in a bungalow and the headmaster Reverend G.F. Pykett, served as the first president of the union.
I learn that the Methodist Boys' School Union still owns the entire block, and that the union is still operating out of this building.
Thank you for visiting my website. I started it in 2003, and today it has over twenty thousand pages of information. My name is Timothy Tye. You can call me Tim. I have been writing my website full time since 1 November 2007, and I am enjoying every moment of it. I write my website to satisfy my own curiosity, but I am glad if the information is useful to you.
