Jalan Magazine

Magazine Road is the first of originally seven parallel roads after the Prangin Canal. For that reason, it is known in Hokkien as Et Tiau Lor, meaning "First Road", a short form of "Et Tiau Lor Koay Kang'a" or "First Road after the Canal". It is the first road within the Seven Streets Precinct.

Magazine Road is right at the heart of George Town. It ends at what was formerly Simpang Enam, a six-corner junction that has since been reduced to five when Gladstone Road made way for the Komtar development.

Getting there

From the Komtar Bus Terminal, walk along Jalan Ria and you will emerge at Jalan Magazine.
