Kampung Binjai, Penang

Kampung Binjai is a small Malay village in Bayan Lepas. It is located along Jalan Permatang Damar Laut, between Permatang Damar Laut and Kampung Seronok. The village of Kampung Binjai is clustered around its community mosque, the Masjid Jamek Kampung Binjai.

The villagers of Kampung Binjai had traditionally depended on farming and fishing for a living, but the encroachment of urban development has forced a change in lifestyle in this village. Many of the villagers here are in danger of losing their homes to development and are seeking help from the government to intervene on their behalf.
