Hui Aun Kong Hooi
Hui Aun Association, or Hui Aun Kong Hooi, is a Hokkien district association founded in 1914. Most of its members are from the working class, including trishaw peddlers, mechanics and construction workers. Women construction workers also joined this association. From this bottom rung of society, a few of its members had risen to become some of the richest and most influential people in Penang. Among them was the late Tan Sri Loh Boon Siew.
The Hui Aun Association is housed in an Art Deco style building from 1938.
Hui Aun Association is within a short walking distance from the Komtar Bus Terminal. From the terminal, walk along Jalan Ria to Jalan Magazine. Cross Jalan Magazine and then turn left.
