Hamilton Road, George Town, Penang

Hamilton Road is a road in the Green Lane area. Originally a minor road, Hamilton Road has in the past couple of decades become one of the major roads due to residential developments surrounding it.

Hamilton Road starts at the interchange at Green Lane, where it connects with Batu Lanchang Lane via a flyover. It ends at the Free School Road Roundabout. Convent Green Lane and Heng Ee High School are two major schools, each located at either ends of Hamilton Road. Hamilton Road itself was named after W. Hamilton, who served as the headmaster of Penang Free School from 1925 to 1926. All the roads bordered by Hamilton Road and Free School Road, to the south of Penang Free School, were named after past headmasters of the school.
