Desa Green is an apartment complex built in 1997. It comprises two blocks of low medium cost apartments along Jalan Van Praagh off Perak Road, in the Batu Lanchang / Jelutong area of Penang. Estimated selling price is between RM100,000 and RM110,000. Estimated monthly rental is RM500 per month.

Facilities

Parking lots are communal. Nothing much in terms of facilities, this being a low medium cost apartment.

Location

Desa Green is 4.1 km from Magazine Circus. It is located in the busy Perak Road part of George Town, a working-class neighbourhood with plenty of street-level activities and shops. While that means you don't have to go far to get food and other basic necessities, it may also be a bit noisy at night as well.

Public Transport

Rapid Penang Bus 11 pass along Perak Road while 206 pass through Van Praagh Road.

Amenities

The nearest school is Heng Ee High School along Hamilton Road. Other schools include Convent Green Lane, Penang Free School, and Sum Sun Primary School. The nearest markets are the Perak Road Market, the Batu Lanchang Market and the Jelutong Market. The nearest hypermarket is Tesco Penang. The nearest petrol station is the Mobil along Jalan Jelutong. The nearest hospital is Lam Wah Ee Hospital.

Traffic

Traffic along Van Praagh Road is often slow due to the narrowness of the road, the high population density of the area, and the fact that motorists are fond of parking along the roadside blocking the way.
