 Bayview Hotel Georgetown 
Bayview Hotel Georgetown is along Farquhar Street, Penang. It is one of the earliest high-rise hotels in George Town, having been constructed in the early 1970's, when it was known as the Merlin. It was and still is the only hotel in town with a revolving restaurant. Located in the heart of George Town, Bayview Hotel is near to famous sights such as the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, Penang Museum and other historic sights.

Getting there
Bayview Hotel Georgetown is located on Leith Street. The Free George Town Shuttle Bus pass by Farquhar Street near the hotel. By taking it, you can explore the sights around the city.

What I like about this hotel
This hotel has one of the best locations in town.
What I don't like about this hotel
It is one of the oldest hotels in George Town. So, some parts of it may look a bit "aged". Having said that, I have to also add that the hotel has been well maintained over the years.
Update: 21 July, 2010
After writing the above, I was notified by Bayview Hotel that they are in the midst of refurbishing their hotel, and that the refurbishment would be completed by end of November 2010. I am glad they take the trouble to inform me, and look forward to see the hotel when it is fully renovated.
