SMJK Yu Hua Kajang

SMJK Yu Hua Kajang is a secondary school in Kajang, Selangor. It is also known as Yu Hua National Type Secondary School. The school dates back to 1910. In the beginning, it was known as Boon Hua School, and was located on Main Street, Kajang. As is the case with most schools, Boon Hua School was initially conducted in the shophouses in town. Only when it relocated to a permanent plot, in 1918, was it given the present name, Yu Hua School.

The Japanese Occupation during the Second World War was a period of upheaval for the entire country, and Yu Hua School was not spared. Much of the equipment of the school was damaged, forcing the school to close until the war was over.

In the post war period, Yu Hua School experienced increased student attendance, eventually necessitating an expansion. In 1958, the school added a two-storey block and five classrooms. Yu Hua became a national type secondary school in 1962.

Today SMJK Yu Hua Kajang has an enrolment of close to three thousand students, and close to 130 teachers.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
