Kangar State Museum (GPS: 6.43966, 100.1877) is the state museum for Perlis. It houses historical objects related to the history of Perlis. In addition to the original building, which is a historical bungalow, the museum has added an annex as an administrative office and hall.

Located along Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Kangar, the building of the Kangar State Museum is housed in a replica of an early 20th century bungalow which originally belonged to Syed Salim bin Syed Muhammad Al-Jafri, the brother to Raja Syed Saffi, who reigned as the Raja of Perlis from 1887 to 1905. During his reign, Raja Syed Saffi has given to his brother the 4.84-acre piece of land on which Syed Salim built his bungalow.

Syed Salim resided there until 1909, when the British took over the bungalow, following the Bangkok Treaty of 1909, in which the Kingdom of Siam handed Perlis to the British, and the house became the residence of the British Resident of Perlis. The house remained in the hands of the British until 1941, when the occupying Japanese forces took over the building. Then in 1943, the Japanese handed it to Thai forces. It remained under Thai control until the end of the war, when the British reoccupied it. It was occupied by the British adviser to Perlis until the independence of Malaya, in 1957. It then became the official residence of the Menteri Besar of Perlis. By the early 1990s, the building was in a bad shape. It was demolished and rebuilt in its original appearance, and from then on, was used as the Kangar State Museum.
