Larut Matang & Selama District & Land Office, Taiping (4 February, 2006)


Larut Matang & Selama District Office (GPS: 4.85377, 100.74362; Malay: Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Larut, Matang dan Selama) is a historic government building in Taiping, Perak. Initially called the New Government Office, it was designed in the Victorian styled and completed around 1897-8. The New Government Office was built at the cost of $83,750, and replaces the original structure built in 1883. It housed the Council Chamber, Offices for the Secretariat, Treasury, Audit, Education and Forest Departments.
