Bagan Panchor, Perak

Bagan Panchor (GPS: 4.52521, 100.65343) is a coastal village in Perak. It is located between Kuala Sepetang and Pantai Remis. The predominant occupation here is fishing.

As with many coastal towns in Perak, Bagan Panchor is near the swamps and mangroves, which are the breeding grounds of the fish.

Bagan Panchor appeared in the newspaper in 2006 when it had an outbreak of the Chikunguya virus (CHIKV) affecting some two hundred people of the village.

Getting there

Bagan Panchor is far from the North South Expressway. If you're coming from the north, you need to exit the expressway at the Changkat Jering Interchange (Exit 146) then head south on State Route 60. You will pass Padang Gajah, Batu Hampar and Kampung Padang Serai on your way to Bagan Panchor.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
