To celebrate 2018 Chinese New Year, Peranakan Passion have come up a unique and special Peranakan twist to the usual New Year fair. They are infusing a grand banquet with their own family recipe in the traditional way.
Available is a 10-course 10-diner Set Menu of abundance and prosperity, to help
guests usher in the wonderful year. This starts off with the Prosperity Toss or Yi Shang, a colourful, fun and tasty salad mix eaten by tossing it high in the air! It is a must-try for those who have yet to do it.
A highlight of the Chinese New Year menu is the 10 Braised Abalone Pongteh, comprising ten whole succulent abalones with whole shiitake mushrooms in chicken pongteh. Another dish is the large Chinese Pomfret, a must-have among the Chinese during the New Year festivities. The fish is cooked to the guest's choice of either Assam Pedas, Lemongrass Steam or Chili Garam Fried.
Another highlight of the Chinese New Yar menu is the 2kg fresh water prawns, one for each diner to make him feel heavenly. This is cooked to the guest's choice of Goreng Rempah, Cili Garam, Lemongrass steam or Assam.
Also in the menu is delicious sea cucumber stir fried with mixed vegetables including lotus root, sweet peas, baby corns and more. Other items include Inchi Kabin Fried Chicken (marinated in herbs and spices), Thai Fragrant Steam Blue Pea Rice, Chilled Sea Coconut and Longan dessert and Premium Puer Tea to complete the grand feast.
