Experiencing the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The Majestic Hotel Kuala LumpurHere we are, with our signature pose, at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur (7 August, 2017)

On 7-9 August, 2017, my wife and I enjoyed the privilege of experiencing the hospitality of The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, one of the grandest hotels in the city.

Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and taken to The Tea Lounge at The Majestic Wing. While the hotel completed the formalities of processing our check in, we were treated to welcome drinks and snacks. Then we were personally ushered to our room. We were to occupy the Governor Suite, which affords a lovely view of the historic Kuala Lumpur Railway Station right across the road.

Shortly afterwards, we met up with Ms Samantha Wong, the Communications Manager of the hotel, and Ms Cara Lee, the Communications Executive, and were given a tour of the rooms and facilities of the hotel. We visiting practically every facility of the hotel, all its food and beverage outlets, as well as the Cigar Room, Drawing Room, The Smoke House, the infinity pool, the gym and the outdoor Roof Garden.

I learned that the hotel has 300 rooms and suites. It comprises two wings - The Tower Wing and The Majestic Wing. The Majestic Wing, which we are occupying, is the original five-storey Majestic Hotel which was fully restored when the property was taken over by YTL Hotels. It houses the luxurious Majestic Club Suites, which comes with butler service. The Majestic Wing also houses The Colonial Cafe, The Bar and The Tea Lounge. Despite its size, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur never feels overwhelming. It has numerous cosy corners where guest may simply curl up with their favourite novel. We concluded our tour by enjoying afternoon tea at the Orchid Conservatory.

After enjoying tea, we have a moment to enjoy our beautiful suite, before dressing up for dinner at the luxuriously designed contemporary restaurant Contango, the main dining outlet of the hotel. Contango offers a huge selection of buffet items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are different food islands and stations where we select dishes of different styles and cuisines.

On our second day, we were treated to a spa experience at The Majestic Spa, which is located in an adjoining building next to The Majestic Wing. This ranks as the highlight of our Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur experience. My wife and I enjoyed the Malaya Golden Chersonese treatment, a couple's treatment that celebrates the journey of Isabelle Lucy Bird, one of the most influential female explorers and writers during the British Malaya period. For the lady, the treatment includes Banana Honey Hair Masque, Papaya Coconut Scrub, Lime Blossom Bath and Bunga Rampai Massage, while for the gentleman, it is Banana Honey Hair Mosque, Malaya Herbs Scrub, Herbal Steam and East Indian Spice Massage. This two-and-a -half hour treatment is incredibly soothing, and forms the highlight of our stay.

Three days and two nights within the cocoon of serenity passed swiftly, and soon it was time to bid the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur a reluctant farewell. It has truly been a luxurious home away from home for us.

I want to convey my thanks to the management and staff for their impeccable service to us during our stay, we have enjoyed every moment of it, and we look forward to returning in the future.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
