Kampung Baru (GPS: 3.16305, 101.70618) is an urban village in Kuala Lumpur. This village serves as a cultural anchor for the Malay community.

Traditionally, the area that is Kampung Baru borders on Jalan Ampang. But with recent urban redevelopment in the area between Jalan Ampang and the Klang River, the urban village of Kampung Baru is today defined as being located north of the Klang River, while the areas south of the Klang River is defined as part of the new neighbourhood of KLCC. Except for the Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery, the rest of Kampung Baru is on the northern side of the Klang River.

The area that is presently regarded as Kampung Baru is located to the north of Jalan Sultan Ismail. It is bordered by Jalan Raja Abdullah to the west, Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz to the north and Jalan Tun Razak to the northeast. Kampung Baru was created in 1900 when the Colonial British administrators gazetted the area for Malay settlement. This has enabled the Malay community to dwell within the city and practise their village lifestyle, even as the rest of Kuala Lumpur faced development, redevelopment and urbanisation.
