Chinatown

Chinatown (GPS: 3.14284, 101.69686) denotes an enclave in the inner heart of Kuala Lumpur that is particularly Oriental in character. For many, the name Chinatown is synonymous with Petaling Street. While the entire Jalan Petaling is Petaling Street, that particular term often refers to the pedestrianized section, heralded on both ends by its ornate Chinese gates.

Chinatown as a whole usually encompasses the roads on both sides of Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. Apart from Jalan Petaling, roads in Chinatown include Jalan Sultan, Jalan Tun HS Lee, Jalan Hang Lekir, Jalan Yap Ah Loy, Leboh Ampang, Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin, Jalan Panggong, Lorong Panggong, Jalan Sultan Mohamed, Lorong Bandar 21 and 22, and Jalan Hang Lekiu.
