Lagenda Park, Langkawi

Lagenda Park LangkawiLagenda Park Langkawi (19 February, 2017)

Lagenda Park (GPS: 6.30885, 99.85459), also written as Taman Legenda, is a landscaped park on the Kuah waterfront. Built on reclaimed land, the 50-acre park is adorned with statues that describe the various legends of Langkawi - seventeen in total. There are signs in English explaining what each statue is about, and a big map of Langkawi depicted in stone.

Lagenda Park encapsulates all the famous legends of Langkawi in one spot. As you tour the site, you come across interpretive boards on the various legends and locales in Langkawi such as Tanjong Chinchin, Ayer Hangat, the legend of Gergasi Bertarung, Bukit Tinjau, Belanga Pechah, Kuah, the legend of Dayang Bunting, Telaga Tujoh, Bukit Hantu, Padang Gaong, the legend of Garuda and Jentayu, Tombak Pandak Mayah, Warita Mahsuri, Sumpah Turuh Keturunan Mahsuri and Tamatnya Sumpah.

Locals come to Lagenda Park for jogging or the evening stroll. There are also four lakes and shady trees to add greenery to the landscape. From here you can see the eagle at Dataran Lang.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
