Seto 瀬戸市, Aichi Prefecture

Seto (Japanese: 瀬戸市) is a city in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, to the east of Nagoya. It covers 112 sq km (43 sq mi) and has a population of 132,000 people (2012 estimate).

Seto is close to the border with Gifu Prefecture. The city is famous for its production of ceramics going back to the Kamakura period. It was established as a village in 1888, and was given town status in 1892. In 1925, it absorbed the village of Akatsu, and was made a city in 1929.
