Osaka Prefecture (大阪府)

Osaka Prefecture (大阪府) is a prefecture in the Kansai Region, on the island of Honshu in Japan. It covers 1,892 sq km and is ranked 46th in size among the prefectures of the country. It was the smallest prefecture in Japan until the construction of Kansai International Airport added sufficient land area to let it overtake Kagawa Prefecture in size.

Going to Osaka Prefecture

By Plane
If you are coming from overseas, the Kansai International Airport provides the best connection. If you are flying in from a city in Japan, then the Itami Airport has the most domestic connection. From either airports, the airport limoousine buses provide the most convenient way to reach Osaka.

By Train
The Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen bullet trains connect Tokyo with the Shin-Osaka railway station, located to the north of the city center. From there, you can take the Midosuji subway line to reach downtown Osaka.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
