How to go to Hokkaido

By Plane
The New Chitose Airport (CTS) is the main airport for Hokkaido. It is also the third largest airport in Japan behind only Narita and Haneda, and the first airport in Japan to operate around the clock. Most of the international scheduled flights to this airport is from countries in East Asia and Australia.

By Car

If you are driving from Honshu, you can take the ferries from Tohoku to Hakodate in Hokkaido.

By Train

The Hakucho and Super Hakucho limited express services link Aomori in Honshu with Hakodate in Hokkaido. The journey takes about two hours and costs ¥5,340 one way. The train travels through the Seikan Tunnel, which measures 53 km (33 mi) in length under the Tsugaru Strait and is presently the longest undersea tunnel in the world.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
