Tsaghkadzor (Armenian: Ծաղկաձոր) is a small ski resort town in the Kotayk Province in central Armenia. It has a population of just about 1,600 (2011 estimate), a massive drop from the 3,400 reported in the 1989 census.

The name Tsaghkadzor means "valley of flowers" in Armenians. It is a popular health resort and ski destination. The town has a history going back to the Arshakuni kings in the 4th to 5th centuries.

Due to its excellent ski slopes, Tsaghkadzor is today becoming one of the major skiing destinations in Armenia, attracting serious as well as amateur ski enthusiasts from all over the country, and increasingly from neighboring countries as well.

Tsaghkadzor has also preserved its cultural heritage well. This includes its medieval monasteries, some dating to as early as the 11th century.

Visiting Tsaghkadzor

Going there by private transport would be the most practical option. If you have to depend on public transport, you first need to take a van or bus from Yerevan to Hrazdan, and from there take a taxi to Tsaghkadzor. Shared taxis are often available to help you cut down on the cost.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
