Searcy is a small city in Arkansas. It covers 14.8 sq mi (38.3 sq km). With a population of 19,000 (2011 estimate), Searcy is the most populous city in White County, of which it is also the county seat. It observes the Central Standard Time, which is six hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-6), and five hours behind during Daylight Saving Time in summer. The phone area code here is 501.

Searcy was founded in 1838 and named after Richard Searcy, a judge of the Arkansas Territory Supreme Court. It was incorporated as a city in 1851. The city is home to Harding University, the largest private university in Arkansas, which moved to Searcy in 1934.

The First Security Bank, the largest bank in Arkansas, was founded in Searcy in 1932. Originally known as Security Bank, First Security today has 70 branches all over Arkansas.
